On April 26th, 2013 Beacon Light released his sophomore album, “Lights On” to a sold out crowd at Gravity West Michigan with Lecrae and Flame. Other artists performing that night included V. Rose, Kierra Sheard, David Michael and Rel Paul. The concert was held at Kentwood Community Church in Kentwood, MI by way of Fearless Entertainment, a well known Entertainment company from Detroit, MI.
“The concert was packed,” recalls Beacon, “It was an honor to share the stage with a Grammy Winner and release my album to my hometown.” Beacon performed a high energy set which included IMG label mates: Mark Evans, Steven Malcolm, and B-Coe. Special guest and Grand Rapids native George Moss also joined Beacon for a featured verse on You Are God.
Beacon performed other featured songs from his album such as: Lights On, Livin’ for Infinity, and The Greatest. He rapped the second verse of The Greatest a cappella, and made Jesus Christ the true focus. “I really wanted to share a piece of my album and heart with the crowd, so from Lights On to The Greatest, my desire was to see people get hype for Christ, and see who truly is the greatest…Jesus.”
After the concert, Beacon Light joined a panel of the artists to answer questions that young people had about our call as Christians, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ through Hip Hop.
Lights On is now available on iTunes, CDBaby, Amazon, and other online stores.
